I purchased the Frigidaire FAH126S2T as a replacement for an old and failing Emerson QuietKool unit that came with our condo.The unit is a tight fit in the Emerson wall sleeve with no room at the top and barely any on the bottom.The side have about 1/4 inch of clearance.
The instructions ask you to do some work outside the sleeve by installing a provided vent and adjusting the angle of the output.Being a computer guy I did none of this.I did install the supplied foam inserts to give the unit the correct angle for water drainage.Overall the install was easy and took less than 1/2 hour minus some sealing I need to do this weekend.
On the topic of performance this A/C delivers.We have a room with high vaulted ceilings and this quickly cooled it from 82 to 72.The various remote functions are very easy to access, though the remote sensing seems a bit out of place to me.Having to put the remote with line-of-sight to the A/C is not practical in our room.
The unit has the same noise level as the old one.For people who like it quiet it may be a bit too loud even on the slow setting.The compressor does not add much to the noise thankfully, unlike the Emerson.
Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.Amazon delivered a great savings on the unit to boot, and free shipping made it worth the extra couple of days.
