American Comfort ACW100 Personal Air Conditioner Review

I am disappointed.Yes, it says that it is not intended to cool an entire room, but considering the size and cost, it should do better than it does. Further:

1) It's too loud.
2) The controls don't give you a lot of options. Temperature control is Hi or Low. Period.
3) The amount of hot air blowing out of the back more than makes up for the amount of cool air blowing through the louver on top.
4) Due to a possible typo in the manual it's not clear whether or not you can set it to both dehumidify and cool at the same time.
5) The power cord is a little short, and you are warned NOT to use an extension cord; thus, it's difficult to position.

Definitely NOT recommended.

Do not waste your money. Go to a dollar store and buy one of those small personal fans instead. The concept is good, especially the water bottle (no chemicals here) but the execution is horrible. The "fan" is too small to actually blow off cold air. I wasn't expecting it to cool down an entire room but I shouldn't be sitting in front of it and still be hot and sweating. If you're working in an area that is already using AC then this might work because it will probably pick up and circulate the cold air but it won't do anything if the air is warm.

O2Cool 1086 Cool Box Personal Air Conditioner with Smart Power Technology Review

This thing is awesome.Definitely personal though, will keep you cool as long as it's blowing directly to you (and others).Only drawback is constantly having to get ice.Also the condensation so if you use it indoors you need to put it on something you don't mind getting wet.Used it on my camping trip and boy did it come in handy.I definitely recommend this to anyone as a cheap alternative to buying an expensive a/c unit.
