COOL BREEZE FAN PACK Review

This is the single most painful waste of money on my life. I bought it with the lowest expectations - that it would at least cool my room a little.
Turns out, not just does it not cool, it blocks most of the fan's vent area, so the room actually gets hotter.
I will stop here before I pour out my bitterness in a long string of curses, but to sum up: this item is not worth 5 cents, forget 20 bucks.

The AirFlow Breeze Home Heating/Cooling System (Almond) (Fits 4"W x 10"L opening) Review

The vent I was boosting is on the floor and I was hoping the AirFlow would work better than my Suncourt EQ2. I should have done a little more research online before buying. One website indicated that the AirFlow would boost 60% while the EQ2 boots 80%. My thinking was that two fans would be better than one. Unfortunately, that didn't turn out to be the case and the EQ2 does have more boosting capability.

However, the AirFlow works and the design is nice in that it fits into the vent instead of over the vent. My floor vent isn't in a high-traffic area so this feature wasn't a benefit since my EQ2 wasn't likely to be tripped over or kicked around. The flush design will work in a wall vent which is one advantage over the EQ2. The AirFlow and EQ2 generate about the same noise level.

PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER Review

Although we have come around to liking this product we were initally disappointed in what was sold as a unit that did not need draining.It does need to be drained or it will automatically shut off after an hour and a half usage.We have it on top of a bowl so that it can drain and thus stay on.It cools the room well but is more work than we expected.Just know what you are buying-an air conditioner that is not self draining!

SPT SF-611 Portable Evaporative Air Cooler with Cooling Pad Review

I am generally happy with my air cooler, but only under the conditions I use it.Let me clarify; This is a great SUPPLEMENT to an air conditioner.My bedroom will not cool down, no matter what temperature you set the air conditioner.The air cooler does a nice job of cooling it down up to 5 degrees (with cold tap water).Not to mention the added benefit of the humidity.I could add ice, which would greatly help, but that would be more work and would cause my fridge to output more hot air.(Simple physics - heat exchange.Too bad I don't have a fridge outside.)If you added ice, and your fridge was outside, it could MAYBE be a substitute for an air conditioner for one room, but I have not tried it.

You should buy this product for your room if:
*You already have an air conditioner
*Your house is very dry
*You like/miss humidity (good for sinuses)
*You don't want to put an air conditioner in your window, or another air conditioner in your window. (Big advantage if you rent)
*You want to save electricity (Uses less than air conditioner)
*It does have a remote and a timer which is nice.It also has different speeds which is nice, and includes some other useless buttons.

Keep in mind:
*It will stop working once the humidity gets high.It helps to own a humidistat.For this reason, I use it only at night.Of course, if you own an air conditioner, it will eventually take the humidity out of the air and you can use the air cooler again.
*The water must be changed daily, preferably right before use.(Colder water = better)
*Even if you change the water every day, the pan will have to be cleaned well at least once a month.
*Mine started making an annoying rattling sound for the first few minutes.I can't figure out what the sound is, how it's make, or how to stop it.So, if I am going to sleep, I have to turn it on at least a half hour before.

Honeywell HW-628 Enviracaire Twin Window Fan Review

I got three different brands to test.One was this model, another was a Holmes (with digital display), and another was a brand called Hawaiian Breeze.The Honeywell was bar far the better quality unit, even though it was between the price ranges of the other two.The fan motors did not have an annoying hum like the Holmes model.And instead of the extension that clumsily slips on the left of the other two units I tested, the Honeywell model had built-in extensions in both sides.Also, the unit seemed more powerful than the other two, especially in the high-setting.On the lowest setting, it was very quiet, but not moreso than the other models.The construction quality was also better, with heavier-duty plastic.This model also included a metal bracket to mount the unit sideways should you have sliding rather than double-hung windows...a nice touch.I wish the extensions were a few inches longer and the whole unit a few inches shorter to accomodate a wider-range of windows.Although it indicates a maximum width of 38 inches, it fit in my 40-inch window fine without any gaps.

Hyundai HYU-P12ER 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with heat electronic remote control Review

This unit does what it was design to do, cool & heat.
I have the exhaust mounted in a wall.
Seems quieter than my smaller window unit in my bed room, its not that noisy.
I think the compressor is very quite, the fan makes most of the noise.
The casing seems a little cheap, all plastic.
It rolls easily and has side grips to lift it.
The unit was completely torn out of the base packaging when it arrived.
Parts were falling out, 1 was missing. Amazon made good on that.
After inspection there wasn't any damage so I am keeping the unit.
I would say that this is a decent unit and should give me a lot of service.

Unistar 4-in-1 Swamp Cooler with Ionic Air Purifier, DF268. Review

pros:
- saves you in energy bills since it can cool the room instead of using the ac
- filters are washable
- the included remote gives you controls even in bed
- the 30 min interval timer feature is great specially when it gets too cold at night

cons:
- the ionizer feature is more of a display light than anything
- needs a weekly maintenance. water mineral builds up at the bottom, if you let it sit for more than a week, taking it out posts a problem.
- if you even find the time to actually clean the insides of the fan and and take out the dusts and water deposits, it would take a lot of patients since the machine wasn't designed for easy disassemble. (you'll need a thin long screw driver to take out some of the screws.)

bottom line:
machine is great as an alternative humidifier and room fan.It is a high maintenance machine make sure you clean it every week or two.
