This is the most terrible piece of electronic/small appliance/ home equipment I have ever had to deal with.The unit is ridiculously heavy, and therefore difficult to move and very frustrating and difficult to position near windows of various heights from the floor.It heats the room as much as it cools, rendering it as "useful" as a fan sucking in air in a window on a hot and humid day.It does this because the pipe that "vents" to the outside radiates heat through itself.The hot part of the A/C unit is still in the room with you, not hanging out the window, and therefore renders the cooling ineffective.

Go to insulate this trash thin plastic pipe, and its fitting cuff teeth that fasten it to the back of the unit snap off.It is poorly built, over-priced, and a frustrating waste of money and time.

The graphical display on the unit takes a thorough re-read of the manual to interpret all its obnoxious symbols for operation.I cannot wait to bring this back and retrieve every wasted nickel spent on it.

My advice to you is to buy a window unit.If you must get a "portable" one, don't buy Amcor.They Amsuck.

My parents live in Arizona and they constantly complain about the dry heat in the summer.I bought this evaporative swamp cooler for them hoping that it would work (these air coolers aren't really useful for areas with high humidity, but they're supposedly fabulous for really dry places).I had it shipped to my parents and they have been raving about it ever since.It's pretty compact, works really well, and is obviously way less expensive to operate than their central air conditioner.Would definitely recommend this product to others.

Whynter Eco Friendly 13000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner - White Review

I am so far extremely pleased with this air conditioner. It's very well designed and as an engineer, albeit industrial engineer, it's well built and is impressive in it's cooling ability. Very nice styling overall but surprisinly heavy given the size. I would give this top marks in all categories.

NewAir AC-12000E 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner With R410A Refrigerant Review

I have always used an evaporative cooler since I live in a low-humidity environment. It works really well unless it get over 96 and this year was especially warm so we decided to get an AC for the bedroom, the warmest room. I did lots of comparing, reviewing and trying to figure out exactly what would end up being the best value. I saw this product and it was something I hoped would work.

It came quickly. The company sends you the FedEx number so you can track it and know when to expect it. After opening it, I was glad we went portable instead of window unit. It looks pretty cool and isn't too huge. The thing for the exhaust in the window looks good when viewed from outside the house. The air comes out very cool and gives instant relief. It isn't loud. The remote is nice - I didn't think we would use but we do. Not having to empty the water is a handy feature also.

I am really happy with this AC. :)
