Symphony S-Hi-Cool Portable Swamp Cooler Features 200 Sq. Ft. Coverage Area Review

I wanted to put an evap cooler in our upstairs bedroom but the window where it would go was too narrow.I checked all the reviews and descriptions I could find on several different web sites and decided to go for this portable unit. It has large water capacity, easy to move, can use as a fan only, add ice for real cool air, easy to add water, is quiet enough we left it on one night while we slept.Fan force good, it really moves the air on "high".Haven't emptied it yet, we have had 100 degree weather so it has been on every day. The "humidity" controller basically just determines how much water flows over the filters.The unit does not cool the room like a window evap unit would, but I do recommend it to take the temperature down 15-20 degrees.I am very glad I purchased this product and if I needed another cooler I would get this one again. It actually isn't too bad to look at either.

Haier HWR24VC5 Window Air Conditioner Review

Do not buy from this maker. They do not work at all and to top it off the unit that was in the box was not what was described on the outside of the box. Based upon the outside of the box, my unit was supposed to have 4 funtions - it came out of the box with only 2. It was supposed to have 3 fan speeds and it came out of the box with only 2. It is a glorified fan - does not cool past 81 degrees. The company does not back their product and told me that they are packed in China and that Haier is not responsible for what happens in China. Go with another maker unless you are just wanting to have a headache.

Sharp AF-S125MX ENERGY STAR 12,000 BTU Air Conditioner Review

My wife and I were replacing two Panasonic Air Conditioners with two new Sharp Ones.We read that Sharp generally makes very good A/C's.

Wow were we disappointed.This A/C was so loud and did not cool the room down as well as our older Panasonic A/C's. The fan was so load that we had to turn the machine off when eating dinner because we could not have a conversation.In the bedroom it was difficult to sleep with the A/C on because of the fan.The sound is like a hair drier.

We returned these A/C's and purchased two from Amana, the only Manufacture we found who listed the noise level (50dB) on their product description.We found them are J&R the only store we found who actually has the A/C's on display connected so you can hear them.

GE Portable Air Conditioner 8000 BTU- APE08AK Review

We got one of these when our air went out.12x15 room so about 180sf.It would never get it down to under 78, plus here in Arkansas you have to empty the water bucket (around a quart and a half maybe) about 5 times in a 24hr period to keep it running.If you forget, it shuts off when the bucket is full to prevent overflow. That's also when it starts getting hot again.It probably works ok as a suplemental room conditioner to add a little boost, but it will not cool a 200sf area when it's hot.You have to vent it out a window anyway so why not just put in a little window unit.The one we exchanged it for (GE as well) works much better and you don't have to get up in the middle of the night and empty the bucket into your Elephant Ear.

Royal Sovereign ARP-4009 Portable Air Conditioner 9,000 BTU Review

We purchased the royal Sovereign ARP-4009 June 2008, used it last summer for about 3 months and didn't turn it on again until July of this year. It worked for about one week and stopped blowing cold air after that. The unit still turns on and produces air but it blows hot air. We realized that we had just missed the one-year Full Warranty period but the unit still qualifies for the LimitedFive Year Warranty which the manufacture will replace the compressor (parts only).I looked up for Royal Sovereign's website for a service contact and they showed a total of 10 in California.I called two and were told by both that they do not service Royal Sovereign anymore. I called a 3rd repair shop which is approximately 45 miles from my house. I made an appointment and brought the unit in.They informed me after a week that there was a problem with the compressor and the condenser. Even though, the parts will be supplied by Royal Sovereign but their labor would cost $250.For the price, we could almost purchase a new portable air condition.

I don't understand how the unit would stop working after one year or to be exact, 3 months of usage.I am frustrated that Royal Sovereign does not have enough service locations which made it very difficult to compare price on the repair. The next closest repair shop to me is approximately 60+ miles away and a totally different direction from the first shop that gave me the estimate. And we only live 20 miles East of downtown Los Angeles!

COOL BREEZE FAN PACK Review

This is the single most painful waste of money on my life. I bought it with the lowest expectations - that it would at least cool my room a little.
Turns out, not just does it not cool, it blocks most of the fan's vent area, so the room actually gets hotter.
I will stop here before I pour out my bitterness in a long string of curses, but to sum up: this item is not worth 5 cents, forget 20 bucks.

Holmes 2 Speed Window Fan Thermostat Review

I bought this fan from Wally World for $20 and got totally ripped off. Luckily I can take it back. Yes, you can reverse the fan by pulling it out of the window and flipping it around. - Can you imagine engineering a product to do this rather than installing a reverse switch? The other bogus thing about this product is that it's super weak. Even on full blast, it barely creates a breeze. Total waste of electricity, and time. After reviewing a few other fans, I purchased the very similar, yet superior Honeywell fan which I kid-u-not, blows twice as hard and has a reverse switch on it. The Honeywell fan actually blows cool air in and out as promised. For $5 more, get the superior Honeywell from your favorite French Big-box store with a huge target on the front.
